A Message of Hope and Encouragement from the Staff of Ballykeel Primary School and Nursery Unit
‘Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.’ Desmond Tutu.
The world is experiencing a time of great darkness and uncertainty. This has brought with it feelings of anxiety over the health of our family and loved ones. Through all of the darkness we have seen many glimpses of light which have spread messages of love, hope and encouragement. People taking groceries to elderly neighbours and food banks, local churches distributing food packages to those who are in need and the nation uniting to applaud the tireless work done by the NHS staff to mention but a few.
Ballykeel Primary School is based on a Christian ethos and we want our parents and pupils to know that we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Please be encouraged by all the positive acts of kindness you have seen and also be an encouragement to others where possible. The fast pace of life has slowed down immensely so remember to value this time of rest for your body and your mind. To all of the parents whose kitchens have turned into classrooms, thank-you for the great job you are doing in home schooling your children. Take some of the pressure off and enjoy teaching them other important life skills such as cooking, baking, sewing, painting or gardening.
Easter time is approaching and this is normally when we celebrate the season of Spring. The days are longer and brighter and we spot glimpses of new life in the blooming flowers and baby animals being born. God’s creation is a wonderful thing and so on that note we would like to share some Bible verses which we hope will bring some light and comfort to you at this time.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1 v 9
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. Psalm 91 v 4
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41 v 10
