Art by P5CC

Primary 5 have enjoyed learning about two very famous artists Van Gogh and Picasso. We studied how the two artists have very different styles in terms of sketching and painting. The boys and girls observed a painting by Van Gogh called 'Sunflowers' and used oil crayons to colour their sketches. After studying Picasso's very abstract style of drawing portraits I asked the children to create a portrait of their own in the style of Picasso. The children decided on colouring their sketches with chalk this time to help with the blending of colours! This arty bunch of children really impressed me with their wonderful creations.
