We had lots of fun at a recent Art Course for staff. Vine Haugh led this training on the skill of drawing. We discussed the different media available to draw with. Time was spent learning about observation and how this important skill is linked not just with art, but with literacy also.
After this, we spent some time trying out different exercises and activities which we could use in the classroom to encourage confidence in drawing. We worked with different media, different scales and backgrounds.
We displayed our work in a mini gallery in the assembly hall and each class had an opportunity to visit the 'exhibition' and discuss the artwork. The pupils really enjoyed seeing the pieces produced by their teachers!
