The girls’ football team took part in the Coaching 4 Christ Girls’ Cup on Thursday 30th May in almost autumnal conditions at Ballymena Showgrounds. The sun did make an appearance just in time for the knock-out stage!
The girls recorded 2 wins and 2 draws in the group stage of the competition and qualified with 8 points for the Quarter Final. A narrow 1-0 win led the girls through to the Semi-Finals, where it took penalties to separate the sides. The final was very much played in the same fashion, with no goals to be found between the sides and spot kicks needed.
A huge well done to everyone who represented the school today, and many congratulations to the girls, who persevered against very tough opposition and lifted the cup!
