Coaching4Christ Cup success for Ballykeel
Ballykeel boys' and girls' football teams took part in the annual Coaching4Christ football tournament at Ballymena Academy this afternoon and both teams came away - in a repeat of last year's success - with the silverware.
In addition, Calvin Termonia scooped the Player of the Tournament award for his tireless contributions to his team's efforts on the pitch.
Qualifying top of the group with 3 wins and 3 draws, the semi-finals against Buick finished in a 0-0 stalemate, and was settled by 3 coolly-taken penalties by Bobby Crawford, Calvin Termonia and captain Gary Kenny, as well as a smart stop by goalkeeper Calum Matchett.
The final was a similar story, Ballykeel coming out on top against a hard-working Clough team thanks to penalties in the shoot-out from Bobby Crawford and Calvin Termonia.
The girls' semi final against Buick was settled by a penalty from Alesha Tweed, and and 1-0 victory against Moorfields in the final was secured through a goal by Freya Bonnes.
Well done to everyone who took part today, and especially to those who made their debuts for the senior team on what was a very successful day!
