The art club had a very busy first week. We looked at paintings of sunflowers and in particular the work of Vincent Van Gogh. Mrs Ritchie brought sunflowers to school so we could study them and look at all the details of the flower. We noticed how the petals looked ombré and how the centre was dark in the middle and light at the edges. We used all our senses to investigate it before we started to draw. We sketched using pencils. Take a look at how we got on. Mrs Ritchie was very impressed!
