KS2 Story Writing Competition - Two Minute Tales
BBC Northern Ireland's Two Minute Tales is a short story writing competition for 5-13 year olds aimed at promoting creativity and literacy. We would like P5-P7 children to write a short story on the theme 'The Spirit of Christmas', and stories must be no longer than 300 words (approx. one side of an A4 page). Winners will have their stories brought to life on BBC Radio Ulster, or maybe even turned into an animation!
The BBC will judge entries based on the following criteria: originality, plot, characterisation, language, enjoyment. We have talked about some ideas in class using a document provided by the BBC ‘Tops Tips for Story Writing’ which is attached. Parents should also read the terms and conditions of the competition.
There will be no other written homework this week or next week to allow time for writing your story. Stories should be handed in on Wednesday 13th November at the latest. We are looking forward to reading all your exciting entries!
