In Mad 4 Maths today Primary 5 were working with negative numbers calculating the difference between positive and negative numbers. They used a number line, beanbags and themselves as a resource to help them with their calculations. Primary 5 are coping well with negative numbers. They also worked with a partner to play a fraction and decimal pair it game. A pile of fraction cards were laid face down on the table and a pile of fraction cards were spread out face down on the table too. Each person took it in turn to turn over a decimal and a fraction card. If the two cards matched the child kept the pair but if they didn't match the cards were put back in their original position. The person with the most pairs at the end won the game. Some of the children concentrated very well during this game and were determined they were going to win. On Tuesday Primary 5 played a division game.
