Miss Galloway's P5CC Mad 4 maths group
Today P5 played a division trumps game. Each child received a card with division facts on them. The children took it in turn to read the division fact on their card and answer it. Whoever had the highest answer received a point and the person with the most points at the end of the game won. Well done to Colin who won the game. There were lots of division facts read out and answered and some great strategies used by the children to help solve tricky division questions. P5 also played a fraction and decimal snap game. This was a popular game with the children. On day 2 of the club children played a game called stand and touch. Numeracy questions involving negative numbers were asked and children were allowed to take a step towards another player. If they were able to stretch their arm out and touch another player they 'knocked' the player out of the game. Well done to Matthew who won the game. Children also enjoyed playing a decimal game which required them to convert between fractions and decimals.
