At Mad 4 Maths today Primary 5 played a fraction match game. They worked in groups to move around a board which had shapes displayed. The shapes were split into different fractions. When each player landed on a shape they had to decide the fraction of the shape shaded and place a counter on their area of the board if they had the matching fraction. The first person to cover all of their board won the game. Well done to Hannah and Alan who were our winners. They also took part in a thought bubble challenge. The children stood with their back to the board and when instructed to turn they turned around. The first person to correctly answer the division sum on display won a point and the person with the most points at the end of the game was the overall winner. Primary 5 can get the answer most of the time to their division tables they just need to work on the speed of recalling the facts. In Mad 4 Maths we will continue to work on division tables which should help to speed up recall of the facts.
