Noodles, dragons and Chinese New Year preparations
This week we’ve kicked off our celebrations for Chinese New Year (coming up on the 5th Feb) in Nursery with lots of exciting new themed activities.
We’ve had lots of fun developing our fine motor skills with spaghetti, rice, spoons and chopsticks in the discovery tray. We loved trying to fill our bowls with all the different items.
We’ve also been learning about Chinese dragons so we all worked together to make our own class dragon with paints and paper plates. We loved mixing the colours and adding some extra decorations with glitter and feathers.
As well as all the festive celebrations we have also been busy building with our lego and exploring pouring with the hoses, funnels and containers in our water tray! This has encouraged some wonderful opportunities for imaginative play as we continue to learn about all the people who help us in our community.
