Primary 3 set off by bus yesterday to visit Carrickfergus Castle. 'Castles' was a topic we had studied this year in one of our World Around Us themes. Many of the children in my class had not visited the castle before and so this was an exciting new experience for them! Philip led us on a tour of the castle and told us lots of exciting information about life in a Castle. The children had the opportunity of trying on some clothes or pieces of armour worn back in those times. The children thoroughly enjoyed the trip and learned so much from the tour. We especially enjoyed eating our lunch together on the grass outside and our trip to Maud's before going back home!
