On Tuesday 6th November P3 went on a trip with the P3 children from St. Brigid's P.S. to Portglenone Forest. The last time we met we were celebrating autumn through doing activity based learning activities. Therefore it was great to visit the forest during this lovely autumn season. Mrs. Montgomery spoke to the children about the many signs of autumn which they could see in the forest e.g. the many colours of leaves falling to the ground. In our Home Sweet Home theme P3 were learning about animal habitats. So we also discussed animals which are found in a forest and those which hibernate. The children had a wonderful time walking around the forest. They made some excellent observations and even spotted some nests and bat boxes high up in the trees.
