The children have been learning how to make amounts using toy money and they have been adding up amounts of money to find totals within 10p and 20p. In order to further challenge the children, we asked them to buy items for a "Party Bag" which must add up exactly to a target total. The children had to buy items which added up to 10p or 20p exactly. The children really enjoyed having real items to choose from. Each item was labelled with a price. The children were able to draw their items including the prices and add the totals as they went along.
