P3K Problem Solving in Numeracy
10th Mar 2020
Today the children were given a problem to solve in Numeracy. Using their knowledge of 2D shapes and number bonds for adding the children had to arrange shapes on to a grid. The grid represented a patchwork quilt. The boys and girls had to arrange the shape patches so the the total number of sides of the shapes added up to 12 in both the rows and the columns. Some of the children spotted the pattern very quickly. Those who took more time to work it out impressed me with how they persevered with the task! We made a beautiful display with our patchwork quilts.
