P5A invent new games with St Brigid's
On Tuesday we went to St Brigid's P.S to learn about different sport games.
First, Miss Graham showed us information about camogie, and explained how the game is played. Then a group of Ballykeel children did a presentation on the game of hockey, as it is a game our friends from St Brigid's did not know.
Then we were split into 4 mixed groups. Each group designed a new game, using a variety of equipment, and incorporating some of the rules of the games we had just heard about.
Finally, we took advantage of the glorious weather to go outside and play the game we had invented.
Watch our video to see Tiana play on these games, and gave a look at the photos showing how to play "Hurlockey", a game in which a team of hurling players and hockey players play against each other during the first half of the match, then switch equipment to play the other team's game during the second half! It was great fun and Joe was a brilliant player!
