P5AR visits Ballykeel Presbyterian church with St Brigid's PS
On Tuesday 30th January, P5AR, along with Mr Cunningham's P5 class from St Brigid's, visited Ballykeel Presbyterian Church. Rev. Martin McNeely welcomed us and led a discussion on differences and similarities between religions. He explained what the key points of Presbyterianism were, what being a Christian means, and talked about his role as a minister. He also talked about the role Ballykeel church plays in the community, and told us a little bit about the church's history.
The children from St Brigid's were very interested in the discussion and asked lots of questions. Most of them had never been in a Protestant church before, and were therefore quite fascinated by what they could see and hear. It was a very good event, and afterwards the children from both schools mingled over juice and biscuits.
