18th Jan 2018
Problem solving investigations.
1.The children had to use a co- ordinates grid to find positions and give directions in a boat race.
2.They had to investigate nets of a cube and place the dots accurately on opposite sides making sure they total 7. They used the skill of visualising how it would fold up and then checking by cutting and folding.
3. The next problem solving lesson was to identify 3 D shapes by recording pieces of information contained in the clues given into a table.
Each problem solving activity is helping them to use different strategies and use maths skills they have learnt to find a solution.
