Today we had to weigh parcels using different types of scales. First, we estimated the weight of our parcels using weights to help us. Next, we found the actual weight of each parcel using both analogue and digital scales.
Once we had worked out the correct weight for each parcel, we calculated the postage costs. We enjoyed working in pairs to complete this activity.
We discovered that analogue scales can be a bit wonky if we don't set the right, and we also need to leave the parcel onto them carefully. With digital scales, we need to make sure that the dial is always as zero and that the batteries are working!
