As part of our World Around Us topic, we are reading Under the Hawthorn Tree, by Marita Conlon-McKenna. We have just reached the part where the children have decided to head off on their own to find their Aunts in Castletaggart.
So, to add some more atmosphere to the reading of the novel, we headed outside to a rather chilly Secret Garden. Wrapped up in blankets, and huddled together, we read on to see what happened next to Eily, Michael and Peggy.
We have really enjoyed reading outside.
