Spinning at Dyeing to Weave
20th Mar 2018
We finished off our final session with a visit from Emma Robinson of Woolly Mammoth Fibres.
Emma showed us how to dye some natural wool and then how to spin it. Spinning turns the fibres into a yarn, where the fibres are better connected and are stronger.
We had a go at prepping the wool for spinning. Everyone enjoyed the spinning.
Can you guess what we used to dye the wool this gorgeous green colour? Unbelievably, it was red onion!!
Thanks to Emma for coming along to our club! It was a very interesting and enjoyable end to the session!
