For several years, our school has taken part in a sponsored walk with St Brigid’s PS. This charity event has been such a success that we have decided to run it again this year! We are planning to join with St Brigid’s PS on Monday 17th June at the Ecos Centre in Ballymena.
Our chosen charity for this sponsored walk is ‘Stand By Me’. On the 17th June we will be completing a ‘Walk for Water’, with the pupils and staff from St Brigid’s Primary School to raise funds to support Stand by Me children in Ethiopia. By walking around the grounds of the ECOS Centre, carrying Jerry cans we will see what life is like for lots of boys and girls who journey down to a river or well to collect the water they need for each day which is often dirty. By participating in the walk and raising money we will be helping to provide boys and girls in Ethiopia with clean water, soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste to help keep clean. ‘Stand By Me’ know that it's often the little things that make a big difference in helping children become everything they are created to be.
This walk will take place at the start of our ‘Take 5’ week in school and will be the perfect way to Be Active, Give money to a charity, Connect with our friends, Take Notice of our surroundings and to Keep Learning about what life is like for children in Ethiopia.
