Stone Age art in P5MA: Take a virtual tour of our local Lascaux cave art!
13th Nov 2018
This afternoon we tried to recreate Stone Age art such as the Lascaux paintings. We went outside and collected bark, grass, soil, leaves, berries and any other natural things that Stone Age people would have used. Then we tried to create animals outlines using what we had gathered and a little water.
We found out that it is very difficult to create vivid colours. Soil and bark were great to create different shades of brown. Grass and moss helped us make yellow and green. The biggest surprise was to find out that rowan berries did not create red at all: they were far too watery. Have a look at the pictures and watch the video of Lascaux3!
