After winning the local Futsal competition, the Girls' football team went to the Valley Leisure Centre (Newtownabbey) to take part in the Northern Ireland finals on Thursday the 12th April.
The team consisted of Stephanie Mark (captain), Alesha McAuley, Nicole Rainey, Madison Marshall, Sarah-Louise Wright Sloan, Alesha Tweed and Aimee Clail. The girls showed great skill, enthusiasm and determination and were unbeaten in their section of the heats. The results were:
Holy Child PS 0-0 draw
Millburn PS, Coleraine 0-0 draw
Moneymore PS 1-0 win
Bridge IPS 3-0 win
Ballykeel PS finished on 8 points and this meant they progressed to the semi-finals as runners-up. The semi final was very close and hard fought but unfortunately we came out on the losing side to a very strong team from St. Patrick's PS, Saul (1-0.)
Special mention must go to Stephanie Mark who rushed back to Ballymena after this tournament to take part in the Senior Cup finals at the Showgrounds.
