Primary 2
It has been a very busy term so far and all the children have been working hard. Please keep up with the hard work with the spellings and continue to keep reading every day. Our topic is 'Long ,long ago ' so the children have been finding out about life in the olden days, at home and school. Ask your child to tell you about Orphan Mary.
Now that the children know lots of sight vocabulary, why not get some books from the library and see if they can make a good attempt at reading it for themselves.
Please keep going over sight vocabulary and practise spelling words from previous weeks to keep them 'fresh.
Primary 3
Our new topic is 'Land, sea and air' so there will be lots of links to transport.
Why not find some books from the library and have a go at reading it with your child-let them try reading it for themselves.
Remember to keep going over word lists and spellings from the previous weeks.
We have been learning about past and present tense, using commas correctly and making questions- please practise these skills at home.
Reading still needs to be listened to every night- encourage your children to use as much expression as possible- practise makes perfect!
