This afternoon we had a scientific time learning about the earth's crust. We learned that the earth’s crust is made up of many pieces called tectonic plates. The plates are able to move and they do so in different ways. Sometimes they cause rocky formations, sometimes volcanoes and mountains and sometimes earthquakes.....all depending on how they move! Mrs Ritchie demonstrated this using custard to represent the mantle and a broken plate to represent the tectonic plates. It was very interesting.
