As part of developing their problem solving skills, the children were set a time challenge. They were asked to find as many ways to make up a duration of 240 mins using, 1/2 hour, 1 hour, 2 hour and 3 hour blocks. We talked about it being similar to a television recording device where it was only able to record 4 hours worth of shows. They used colour coded to help with this. It was interesting to see how systematically the pairs worked and which strategy they felt was best to tackle the challenge. Some great team work during this task, very pleasing!
