A huge thank you to Michael from Travelling Past for a superb demonstration last Friday. He transformed the classroom into a 1800s style living room, complete with fireplace and table.
The children watched with anticipation as he churned cream into butter and made potato bread or fadge from scratch. Though, the bit they most enjoyed was the eating of all the homemade products!!
Michael also brought with him lots of tools, pots and lamps which farming families would have used in the 1800s. He demonstrated how potato drills would have been dug and how families would have cut and dried peat!
