In P5 we have been pretending that we are living in Mesolithic times. We looked at caves and caves paintings and talked about how they would have drawn on the caves since they do not have the materials that we have today. We went outside and picked natural materials that we thought they could have used to make colour. In groups we then tested out the materials. We found that blackberries and raspberries were the best at producing colours.
We then created some cave paintings but we had to have no light apart from a torch, just like in Mesolithic times. The classroom was in darkness and we covered the tables with black cloth.
